Author's notes: Riley is the only character on BtVS that I can ever recall going to church. (With the exception of Drusilla, before she was turned.)

Note: So I may be playing the frog in boiling water with this fandom. But the lucky frog that jumps out, not the slow cooker. I began “Ruby Red” having seen very few Buffy episodes and I've seen a few more now and I must say that Buffy&Spike are very stressful entities. Very. So I might be high-tailing it out of this fandom but, in the mean time, I wrote something relaxed. Imagine that.

Fandom: Southern vampire Mysteries/ Buffy the Vampire Slayer Warnings: What I don't know about Buffy could fill about 5.5 seasons of DVDs. Characters: Eric/Sookie, Pam, Buffy/Spike, Willow, Dawn, and a few cameos, points if you pick them up Summary: Dawn throws herself the 18th birthday party Anya would have wanted and a well meant wish goes awry... and somehow I find myself writing about a strip club yet again.

Hi. :) I've never posted here before, thought I should since I haven't really gotten any review on the Buffy fanfic I just started on my own LJ and on fanfiction.net, so...It's my first Buffy fic, but I've been writing for many years, so hopefully it's all right. Please give me a chance! I promise that I plan to take a look at some of the other fics here in this community and leave comments there as well. Okay, so...thanks!
Title: Watch Over Me
Season: Early 5
Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, and Friendship/Family
Summary: After the encounter with Dracula, after Buffy asks Giles to be her Watcher again, she worries that she didn't say enough--that he doesn't know how much he really means to them all. Then Giles is captured by a group of demons with a horrible agenda, and the nightmare begins.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This story assumes there were actually several weeks between the last two scenes of Buffy vs. Dracula--the scene where Buffy asks Giles to be her Wacther again, and when she comes home to find Dawn there, which is when we see Dawn for the first time. I love Dawn, but she didn't fit into my plot, so she's not here. Thus the insertion of several weeks there. I promise it will actually fit there once I'm done, if you pretend Buffy happened to be wearing the same outfit on those two days several weeks apart...which actually isn't that out there at all, so bear with me please! Other than that slight fudge, this story will remain completely canon, I promise. Also, this is my first Buffy fanfic, so please do review to let me know how I'm doing, and please be nice--but still honest! Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy the story. :)
